White converse all-stars have always been my fall back sneaker. This has been the case ever since I begged my parents to get me my first pair in middle school. I’m constantly burning through them and have had numerous pairs at this point. I have recently worn my last pair down and was going to buy a new pair of the classic sneaker. However, Vans have been catching my eye lately, and I’m considering passing on the converse for a pair of some shiny new SK8-hi Vans. What do you think?

Back in April 2013, I wrote about overalls making a comeback in a big way. And here I am, over a year later finally jumping on the bandwagon and buying my first pair of overalls since grade school. I wish I had joined the overall camp sooner, because I love the versatility and functionality of them. They can easily be worn from day to night by switching from sandals to heels. I wore this pair from Zara to dinner with a few of my girlfriends, and couldn’t have felt more comfortable all night. Everyone definitely needs a pair to wear throughout the summer.

This past weekend was my aunt’s birthday, and of course my family celebrated at a Russian restaurant. If you have never been to a Russian restaurant here in LA, it goes something like this: banquet style food, lots of dancing to Russian music, vodka shots, and finally tea and cake. The dress code for such an event tends to gravitate towards the dressier side. Since most of my dresses were out of commission at the dry cleaners, I opted for a skirt and jacket combo. This tweed jacket from Zara always makes me feel more polished and put together, no matter what I throw it over, be it cutoffs shorts or a pair of jeans.

The last time I dyed my hair I was in high school and going through a rebellious stage. I decided to go for a bright red and used a drugstore box dye to tint my brunette locks. While I didn’t hate the end result, I have stayed away from dyes ever since. It’s been 6 years since the red hair debacle and I’ve decided to give coloring my hair another try. This time I decided to go lighter for a fresh summer feel and add some blonde to the bottom portion of my hair.
To really make the blonde pop, I decided to wear some blue. I love various shades of blue, but definitely don’t have enough of it in my closet. I’ll probably look to investing in some more blue pieces, especially now to really make my blonde hair stand out.
I have been seeing this hairstyle around the inter web for the past few weeks and I am in love with it. It is so simple that even I could master it, despite the fact that I am terrible with anything hair related. Even a simple braid leaves me confused and my fingers tired. With all the braided hairstyles that I am constantly seeing on Pinterest and tumblr, It’s great to finally see something that looks not only flattering but also extremely easy. I can’t wait to try this look out, hopefully I can pull it off as well as these girls.
